Jerame C. Reid, the man slain by Bridgeton Police Officers on 12/30/2014; left behind a wife, Lawanda Reid, who decided to turn a tragedy into a triumph in the name of her late husband. Because of his love for people and his willingness to always help a person in need, Lawanda began a nonprofit organization: Reid’s Manor. It will operate as a group home for young women between the ages of 18 and 24 that may be pregnant and/or have small children. Our Motto is “Meeting You Where You Are!” So if you are in school, job training, or job searching, we are dedicated to assisting you to achieve your goal of completion. While residing at Reid’s Manor, you will receive training on basic life skills such as: cooking, cleaning, grocery shopping, searching and securing a job, budgeting, etc. Here at Reid’s Manor, staff will provide all the necessary tools to ensure success upon leaving the Manor.
